Christian Horner Reportedly Getting in Touch with Various F1 Team Owners
Previous Red Bull team principal Christian Horner is allegedly "ringing up pretty much every team owner" as he attempts a return to Formula 1, per the Aston Martin team top executive Andy Cowell.
The British racing team is among the teams that are connected to the ex-boss.
The Aston Martin CEO revealed he had confirmed the developments with team owner Lawrence Stroll on Friday at the Marina Bay race.
"It appears that Christian is ringing up pretty much every team owner at the moment," commented Cowell.
"I can definitively state there are no plans for the involvement of Christian in an operational or investment role in the future."
Other Teams React
Haas boss Ayao Komatsu disclosed that Horner had "approached" the Stateside organization but noted: "No progress has been made. It's over."
The Renault-owned team executive director Steve Nielsen revealed the team's executive adviser and de facto boss Flavio Briatore was "old friends" with the ex-boss.
The Alpine director continued: "I have no knowledge what they discuss. Everything I know is there are no arrangements for Christian to join Alpine but that isn't to say it might not transpire."
The Grove-based squad team principal James Vowles stated that Horner had not contacted them.
"We're quite satisfied with the setup we have and it's effective," the Williams boss said. "I don't see any reason to modify it."
