Helicopter Spirals Out of Control into Palm Groves at Frequented California Beach
A chopper soaring above a crowded southern California beach suddenly commenced twirling uncontrollably, finally losing altitude and crashing into a row of palm fronds as onlookers watched.
Footage posted on social media capture the aircraft starting to spin over the shoreline then plunging towards the border of the beach, where it gets stuck amidst palm trees and a steps close to the coastal road.
First Aid Information
Local firefighters said five persons were transported to a medical facility comprising two individuals who were in the helicopter and were “extracted safely from the crash site” subsequent to the incident on the weekend.
Three individuals on the pavement were hurt. Details on their injuries were not yet released.
The cause of the crash was not immediately released.
Planned Function
Authorities said the helicopter was connected to an annual “Cars and Copters” fundraising event scheduled for the following day.
